1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the BitTool website, the BitTool mobile application, and related support communications that link to or refer to this policy. In this policy, “BitTool,” “we,” “our,” or “us” means BITTOOL PTE. LTD.
BitTool is a self-custodial wallet application. The wallet is designed so that sensitive wallet secrets remain under the user’s control rather than being stored by us on centralized servers.
2. Core privacy principles
We designed BitTool around a few simple principles.
- We do not custody user assets.
- We do not ask users to create an account to use the wallet.
- We do not require identity verification to create or use a standard wallet in the app.
- We aim to keep private keys, seed phrases, passwords, and other wallet secrets on the user’s device.
- We try to collect the minimum information reasonably needed to operate the app, maintain security, and provide support.
3. Information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with BitTool, we may process limited categories of information.
a. Information you provide directly. If you contact us for support, submit feedback, request help, or communicate with us by email, we may receive your email address, the contents of your message, and any attachments or information you choose to share.
b. Website and app technical data. We may receive basic technical information such as app version, operating system version, device type, crash diagnostics, language preference, and similar technical information needed to troubleshoot issues, improve stability, or ensure compatibility.
c. Usage and diagnostic data. We may process limited usage or event data necessary to understand performance, identify errors, detect abuse, and improve the product. Where possible, this data is aggregated, de-identified, or minimized.
d. Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, platform providers such as Apple may assign a device token so that notifications can be delivered to your device.
4. Wallet and blockchain data
BitTool is built for self-custody. We do not intend to collect or store your private keys, seed phrases, or plain-text wallet passwords on our servers.
The app may, depending on the feature being used, communicate with blockchain nodes, indexers, or BitTool-operated infrastructure in order to show balances, transaction history, price data, asset metadata, or other wallet-related information. In doing so, systems involved in those requests may necessarily process certain wallet-related technical data, such as public addresses, extended public keys, network identifiers, token contract addresses, transaction hashes, or device-generated identifiers used for synchronization or anti-abuse purposes.
This type of information can reveal wallet activity or public blockchain relationships, even if it does not identify you by your real name. Public blockchain data is inherently public and may remain visible permanently on-chain.
You should never share your seed phrase, private keys, or recovery credentials with anyone, including BitTool support.
5. How we use information
We may use the information described above to:
- operate, maintain, and improve BitTool;
- provide wallet-related features such as network connectivity, synchronization, transaction broadcasting, and status updates;
- respond to support requests, bug reports, and user communications;
- monitor reliability, diagnose crashes, and prevent abuse or misuse of the service;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service;
- protect the rights, safety, and security of users, BitTool, and third parties.
6. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose limited information in the following situations:
- to service providers who help us host the website, process diagnostics, deliver notifications, or provide infrastructure and support services;
- to blockchain infrastructure providers, node operators, or related technical providers when requests are made through the app;
- if required by law, regulation, court order, or valid governmental request;
- to protect rights, safety, security, or investigate fraud, abuse, or technical issues;
- in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of all or part of our business.
Where practical, we work to limit the amount of information shared and require service providers to use information only for legitimate service purposes.
7. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including to provide services, resolve disputes, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, or enforce our agreements.
Because BitTool is designed to store sensitive wallet secrets locally, retention periods for such secrets are generally determined by your device and your use of the app rather than by our servers.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information we process. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your own device security matters. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device, operating system, backups, passwords, biometrics, recovery phrase, and any third-party storage or cloud account that you choose to use.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have legal rights relating to personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and rights relating to data portability.
If you would like to make a privacy request, contact us at support@bittool.com. We may need to verify your request and may be unable to fulfill requests where an exemption applies or where we cannot reasonably connect a request to the limited data we hold.
You may also control certain information directly through your device settings, such as notification permissions, iCloud settings, analytics preferences, and app deletion.
10. Children
BitTool is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age required by applicable law to provide valid consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can review the issue.
11. International transfers
BitTool may operate with service providers and infrastructure located in multiple jurisdictions. As a result, information may be processed outside your country or region. Where required, we take reasonable steps intended to ensure that such processing is subject to appropriate protections.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice through the website or the app.
Your continued use of BitTool after an updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means the updated policy will apply to your future use, to the extent permitted by law.
